"Coral Kiss"

It has been busy around here the past couple of days. My son turned fourteen yesterday, hard to believe he's been hanging around here that long. Lipstick paintings go really nice in the bathroom, why not have art everywhere?

"Curious"

I like the colors of this little guy, and his face is just darling. I hope I showed this.

"Hot Stuff"

I did this one a while back. I am consumed by this big painting and have had a hard time pulling myself away. I did do a small one today and I will post it tommorrow.

"Tic Tac Toe Peas"

Still working on the big painting, it's like trying to put togrther a giant puzzle. It's neat to start seeing it as a whole.

"Granny Smith"

My 10 year old was in the studio today , so I asked him if he wanted to paint. He of course said yes, what kid dosen't want to paint. I did this apple as a demo, and then he dove in, lots of questions and an hour later he was done. It was a special afternoon for me to be able to teach my child a little about how to see light and shadow, to think like an artist.

"Apricot stack"

We have an Apricot tree in our yard, they are pretty wormy but they are just fine to paint. I am on day two of painting the large canvas I stretched the other day. It is of a carousel with all the horses, and a little girl riding one. So far so good.

"Onions with Garlic"

They all can't be successes, so here's one that's not, I guess if I'm going to post everyday or nearly so there's bound to be a few flops.

"The Outsider"

Love Cherries, so fun to paint. I stretched a 26"x34" canvas today, I haven't worked this big in a while and after doing so many small pieces I'll have to change gears a bit. Wish me luck, it's a painting of a girl on a carousel horse and the lighting is beautiful. Also it is so colorful I am excited to get started.

"Little Blue Cup"

I bought this cup a few weeks ago on a stop in Oklahoma City on the way to Duncan for the workshop. I just love the shape. I think it will be showing up in many paintings.

"Groovy Lemon"

Today's painting has the feel of summer, the fabric reminds me of something I wore as a halter top, back in the day. I have my art supplies packed and Iam getting excited about getting away for a few days. I like the atmosphere of a good workshop, meeting people, exchanging ideas and information and mostly watching a really good painter work. Have a great week!

"Rainbow Sherbert"

These colors are so Spring like they remind me of sherbert. I will be going to Duncan, OK Wednesday morning. I will be attending an outdoor painting workshop with Gay Faulkenberry. So maybe I will have some landscapes to post when I get back.

"A Fan of Peas"

I'm not completly happy with this one. I guess that's the way it goes. I got too fussy with it and it lost it's freshness. So, I'll try again tommorrow.

"Just Ducky"

The squash bin at the grocery store looked like it was filled with ducks. Ok maybe it's just the artist in me, but I had to laugh. Then I stood there trying to pick out the perfect squash/duck to paint. I hope no one was watching, they would think I'm nuts.

"Cool Kiwi"

Have I mentioned how challenging Kiwi's are for me? I guess I'll just have to keep painting them.

"Esca-peas"

Pardon the pun, I couldn't resist. I went to Bartlesville, OK to the Talisman Gallery to deliver some paintings for an upcomong show, so I did not get to paint yesterday. Taking care of the business side of things is the hardest part of being a working artist for me. I'd rather be in the studio, with someone else selling and advertising. In my dreams!

"Me Next"

These dainty yellow Violas are one of my favorite flowers. Spring is in full swing so I'll be painting more flowers. I think taking the pictures and posting them daily is the most challenging thing for me in this daily painting project.

"Kiwi Glow"

Late posting new work, my memory card was full and oops I can't find my other one, so off to the store I went. Kiwi's have alot going on inside, so it was a challenge to simplify what I was seeing. Again I let the light shine through from behind illuminating the slice of kiwi.

"En gaurd"

I like the shape of these paper umbrellas, open or closed they make great composions. These two looked like they were fencing, thus the title. I was having trouble getting the luminosity of the umbellas. The photo dosn't show this as well as it looks in person.
