"Summer Sun"

I just love painting Sunflowers. I think I'll do a few more. I wanted to do a plein air painting but the thermometer hit 103 here today with no change for tommorrow. I think I'll stay in and just think about painting out. Ha!

I'm not very pleased with this, but they can't all be winners.

"Earthly delights"

I picked these up at the farmers market, they were irresistable. They served double duty last night, after I painted them I cooked them with dinner. My boys gobbled them up. I swear they did! How you ask, well I sliced them thin, threw them in my cast iron skillet with some butter, yes butter, evoo would be healthier, season salt and pepper. I cooked untill just tender, topped with parmasan cheese and popped the skillet under the broiler untill cheese is golden brown. Good stuff and good for you.

"Random"

After painting so many 6"x6" paintings, a 12"x12" seems big. I am trying to figure out how to set up a "sign up for my blog space like so many other daily painters have but I'm not tech savvy. I would also know how to have a "click here to bid" button. Can anyone help me?

This was actually part of a larger painting that didn't turn out, but I did like this part, so I cut the painting into pieces. Is that cheating?

It's that time pf year again, the garden are full of vegatables and fruit. I back lit this slice of watermelon, the seeds looked cool.

"Coral Kiss"

It has been busy around here the past couple of days. My son turned fourteen yesterday, hard to believe he's been hanging around here that long. Lipstick paintings go really nice in the bathroom, why not have art everywhere?

I like the colors of this little guy, and his face is just darling. I hope I showed this.

I did this one a while back. I am consumed by this big painting and have had a hard time pulling myself away. I did do a small one today and I will post it tommorrow.

"Two Fish Blue Fish"

I always wanted a bowl with a fish design, and recently Gail, my painter friend gave me a real one. This one I made myself, artists are always thinking of ways to find what we need for our paintings. Carol Marine another daily painter has started to stamp her own fabric for backgrounds, as well as sew pieces together for striped fabric. Still working on the big painting, it's like trying to put togrther a giant puzzle. It's neat to start seeing it as a whole.

"Granny Smith"

My 10 year old was in the studio today , so I asked him if he wanted to paint. He of course said yes, what kid dosen't want to paint. I did this apple as a demo, and then he dove in, lots of questions and an hour later he was done. It was a special afternoon for me to be able to teach my child a little about how to see light and shadow, to think like an artist.

"Apricot stack"

We have an Apricot tree in our yard, they are pretty wormy but they are just fine to paint. I am on day two of painting the large canvas I stretched the other day. It is of a carousel with all the horses, and a little girl riding one. So far so good.

"Onions with Garlic"

They all can't be successes, so here's one that's not, I guess if I'm going to post everyday or nearly so there's bound to be a few flops.
